Tallia Storm

16-year-old pop star from Scotland

After leaving her demo CD with Sir Elton John’s partner in a hotel restaurant, teen singer/songwriter Tallia Storm’s life changed forever in 2012.

Sir Elton John called within 24 hours and invited her to open his football stadium concert in Scotland at just 13 years old. She belted out her strong soulful melodies, with an R&B groove that simply defied her petite teenage frame. To great critical acclaim, she was front-page news in the UK media, newly dubbed ‘Tiny Chancer.'

Since then she’s performed across the world with her trademark ‘big hair’ and critically acclaimed in her native Scotland with her quirky and fearless sense of style and sound. There’s something quite raw and interesting about the Tallia Storm vocal. Nothing contrived, just a deep soulful signature reminiscent to that from the Motown era, belying her age.

Together with her father Sascha, a jazz pianist and producer, Tallia has crafted a unique sound having grown up singing the great legends of jazz. She counts Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, Lena Horne, Sarah Vaughan and Billie Holiday as her inspiration and listens to Charlie Parker, Dizzie Gillespie and Coltrane. However, she adds a contemporary twist being influenced by the likes of Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Frank Ocean, John Legend, Stevie Wonder and of course the late Amy Winehouse.
She’s just signed a global record deal with Virgin Records at the iconic Capitol Tower in Hollywood, has presented at TEDxTeen at the request of Nile Rodgers, writes for Huffington Post Teen and still has her feet firmly on the ground, juggling school and teenage life!
