Tamara Belinc

Social worker writing mom

Tamara Belinc lives in Tennessee with her husband and two daughters. She currently works as a social worker for people who are mentally ill. She is very passionate about politics, speaking out especially about unfair abortion laws, cuts to programs that help the poor, and universal health care. Although she has always been interested in politics, she never spoke out until she was denied an abortion in 2008, after her daughter was diagnosed in utero with Trisomy 18. She subsequently was stillborn. In another lifetime, she was an award-winning journalist, spending ten years at community newspapers, including a long stint as a Lifestyles Editor. She geeks out over all things Harry Potter and the Golden Girls. She enjoys spending time with her family and teaching her daughters to be empowered, vocal young women. Her motto in life is Be Kind but also to share your story even if your voice shakes.
