Tami Shaikh

Mom, Storyteller and Author

I am a mom, a storyteller, an author and a civil rights advocate who currently blogs for the Huffington Post. As an author of two books , I have written numerous articles on how to follow your heart. I currently work for one non profit and am the co-founder of another one. I passionately believe, that the road to healing starts from being kind and compassionate to yourself first. Being a woman of color, born in America who has travelled the world- I have an unusual perspective on things. I have been blessed to sit with the richest and the poorest humans (not just in monetary terms) and it has made me a good listener and a connecter. My life's philosophy is to follow my dream of telling stories of everyday heroes no matter where in the world they come from, to spread compassion and also to help other aspiring writers achieve their goals. I have been blessed to travel the world and also had a column in the Khaleej Times, a local newspaper in Dubai, UAE. Writing has been my oxygen, my love and my therapy for as long as I can remember. I would love to share my work and my stories with you, and would also love to hear your's too. I am a proud mother of three wonderful children, who make me a better person every day. www.tamishaikh.com
