Ted Fox is the author of "Showtime at the Apollo: The Story of Harlem’s World Famous Theater" – the only full scale history of Harlem’s legendary showplace. It is the definitive book on the Apollo. Originally published by Holt, Rhinehart & Winston in 1983, it has been issued in many editions since. In 2014 – for the Apollo’s 80th anniversary – Fox revised and updated the book as an e-book on Kindle and all major platforms. Fox is also the author of "In The Groove" -- a collection of interviews with the legendary men who shaped the music industry, including Jerry Wexler, Chris Blackwell, Leiber & Stoller, Alfred Lion and Nile Rodgers. Published by St. Martin’s Press in 1986, it is now revised and updated as an e-book on Kindle and all major platforms. Since 1986 he produced and managed Grammy winner Buckwheat Zydeco. “On A Night Like This,” which Fox produced, was named one of the Ten Best Recordings of the Year by The New York Times. He was senior editor/music features for Audio magazine, and has a Master’s degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Fox also co-owns and was the original backer of the fast-growing restaurant chain, Mexicue, in New York City.
