Ted Merwin, Ph.D. teaches religion and Judaic studies at Dickinson College (Carlisle, Pa.), where he is also the founding director of the Milton B. Asbell Center for Jewish Life. His latest book, "Pastrami on Rye: An Overstuffed History of the Jewish Deli," won the 2015 National Jewish Book Award in the category of Education and Jewish Identity; it has been featured in the New York Times, The Economist, Chicago Tribune, Haaretz, Jerusalem Post, Time Out Tel Aviv, and on radio and TV across the United States.
