Views from experts in academia, providing fact-based analysis of issues for the public.
The Conversation is an independent, nonprofit source of expert news and views, from the academic and research community, written for the public. Access to independent, high-quality, authenticated, explanatory journalism underpins a functioning democracy. Our aim is to allow for better understanding of current affairs and complex issues. And hopefully allow for a better quality of public discourse and conversations. We work with expert scholars, and our editors help them share what they know in jargon-free writing. We believe in open access and the free-flow of information. The Conversation is a free resource: free to read (we’ll never go behind a paywall), and free to share or republish under Creative Commons (as is done on the Huffington Post). We began in Australia in 2009, and now have editions in the United States, the UK, Africa, and France.
