Author, 'What If Boomers Can't Retire? How to Build Real Security, Not Phantom Wealth'

Thornton Parker is a retired author, writer, and independent consultant who specialized in long term, sustainable investment and economic strategies. His 45 years experience in industry with GE and RCA, and later with government included strategic planning, finance, marketing, manufacturing, large computer systems, personnel, accounting, technology management, and government policy. He served in the executive office under every president from Lyndon Johnson to Ronald Reagan, most of the time in the office of management and budget. Where most people concentrate in one or more specialized fields, he concentrated on large system problems and linking fields that did nor normally interact.

In addition to his book, What If Boomers Can't Retire? How to Build Real Security, Not Phantom Wealth, he has made presentations to conferences of actuaries and state and local government pension plan officials. His articles have appeared in Barron's, On Wall Street, The Washington Post, and more specialized management journals.

He and his wife live in Harrisonburg, VA, where they kept in line by Rory, their Cardigan Welsh Corgi.
