Licensed to practice physical therapy in New York and New Jersey since 1981, Dr. Edelson is known for his expertise in the McKenzie Method (MDT) of physical therapy, a globally-known, unique and effective approach to spine, extremity and headache pain. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Ohio Wesleyan University (Bacteriology & Botany), Montclair State College (Immunology), and Massachusetts General Hospital Institute for Health Professions (MGHIHP). He trained as a physical therapist at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Edelson is one of 400 practitioners worldwide to have earned the prestigious Diploma in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy from the McKenzie Institute International, New Zealand. His practices in Manhattan and New Jersey are Certified McKenzie Clinics, a designation awarded to 70 practices world-wide. As a member of the Institute's faculty, he has instructed and mentored two dozen of the world's leading physical therapists, and hundreds more professionals who practice throughout the United States. An avid athlete, Dr. Edelson has treated more than 15,000 patients in his career and is known for his personable, caring approach to complex problem-solving in partnership with his patients and referring physicians.
