Ton Engbersen, Ph.D

Scientific Director of the ASTRON & IBM Center for Exascale Technology

Ton Engbersen is the Scientific Director of the ASTRON & IBM Center for Exascale Technology in conjunction with the DOME project.

Engbersen has been a member of the IBM Academy of Technology since 1994. He joined IBM in 1980 and his career has spanned areas as diverse as image processing, chip design, communications technology, server technology, legacy management and innovation in outsourcing. He has held a range of management positions in Research and Development in Switzerland and in the U.S., including Vice President of the IBM Academy of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He currently works at IBM's Zurich Research Laboratory in Switzerland.

Engbersen holds an EE Master from Eindhoven University, Netherlands, and a PhD from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich.
