Torri was born in Robbins, IL. He is the youngest of three children. As a youth, he was a standout talent in football. He graduated from Northwestern University in 2004. Shortly after, he self-published his debut title, When the Music Stops. He has been writing ever since. Most recently, he penned His Dough, Her Cookie: The Black Woman's Guide to Love and Marriage in the Age of Independence, a relationship self-help for black women. Torri lives in the Chicago area with his wife and three kids.
