Tracey Conyer Lee

Tracey has sustained her artistic career as an actor working primarily on new plays and musicals or at theaters that encourage new work. Thriving in collaborative artistic environments such as The O’Neill Center’s playwright and musical theater conferences; Florida Stage and Interact Repertory Theatre, members of the National New Play Network; and the Humana Festival of New American Plays at Actors Theatre of Louisville, she was immersed in the creations of world and regional premieres by both emerging and established playwrights. Always the storyteller, in 2008 she began studying with Pulitzer Prize nominee and Julliard literary manager, Tanya Barfield and quickly developed a love for writing.

Tracey's solo show Standing Up: Bathroom Talk & Other Stuff We Learn From Dad was produced in the 2010 New York International Fringe Festival to outstanding reviews and audience response. That same summer she became the resident playwright for Don't Miss A Beat, Inc., an arts and education program in Jacksonville, FL that introduces marginalized youth to the world of theater, music and dance. DMAB has produced three musicals for which Tracey wrote the book. Her work as a collaborative writer was directed by Trezana Beverly in 2009 as a workshop for a burgeoning New York theater collective. Her short play Poor Posturing was produced in the 2013 Fire This Time festival.

Currently Tracey is performing in the off-Broadway musical, SISTAS. She continues to study and work as both actor and playwright in New York City, which she considers home.
