Tracy Van Slyke

Tracy Van Slyke is the director of Culture Lab, an initiative housed at Citizen Engagement Lab to help social change organizations tap into the power of culture to advance societal and political change. From 2013-2014, she was a fellow at The Opportunity Agenda, where she wrote and published the report Spoiler Alert: How Progressives Will Break Through with Pop Culture. Tracy was the publisher of a national award-winning magazine, In These Times. She's written extensively about the evolution of journalism and how to understand media impact, and is co-author of the book Beyond the Echo Chamber (New Press, 2010). She also led The Media Consortium, a national coalition of the country’s leading progressive, independent media, and served as director of The New Bottom Line, a groundbreaking coalition of grassroots organizing networks and campaigns.
