Van Donkersgoed is a senior majoring in Social Policy and Legal Studies at Northwestern University. His interest in non-pofits was sparked by his involvement in USA Swimming as an athlete representative on the Board of Directors. Donkersgoed swam competitively for 12 years, including international competitions and participating at the US Olympic Trials in 2012. He is now the volunteer assistant coach for the Northwestern Swim Team.
