Actor/filmmaker
Vera Miao grew up in New York and currently lives in Los Angeles, where she is an actor/filmmaker and consultant for nonprofits. She is the co-writer, producer, and co-star of the upcoming apocalyptic road trip feature, Best Friends Forever (www.bestfriendsforeverfilm.com), currently in post-production.
She is a graduate of the conservatory program of the Atlantic Theater Company, formed by David Mamet and William H. Macy. She has appeared in numerous films and TV shows, including NCIS, Brothers & Sisters, NUMB3RS, Greek, and Important Things with Demetri Martin.
She has worked for almost 20 years in the nonprofit sector, with an emphasis on social justice and youth organizing. She currently provides consulting services to a wide range of nonprofit organizations and philanthropic institutions engaged in social justice issues.
In her downtime, Vera likes to dance, read a lot of books and watch a lot of TV and movies, often in the sci-fi and fantasy genres, and hopefully having something to do with gods and monsters.
