Cynthia Wachtell is a research associate professor of American Studies and the founding director of the S. Daniel Abraham Honors Program at Yeshiva University in New York City. She earned her PhD in the History of American Civilization and an AM in English from Harvard University. Additionally, she simultaneously earned BA and MA degrees, summa cum laude, in American Studies from Yale University. She is the author of War No More: The Antiwar Impulse in American Literature, 1861-1914 and has published a wide range of essays, about war writing and other topics, in peer-reviewed journals, edited collections, The New York Times, and other publications.
