Ms. Garrett-Walker is a doctoral candidate in the International and Multicultural Education program in the School of Education at University of San Francisco. Her dissertation explores the experiences of Black women school leaders and how they center healing and joy in their leadership practice. Ms. Garrett-Walker has spent over a decade working in public education as a teacher, teacher-leader and school leader in Oakland and San Francisco, California. Whitneé is an unapologetic Black, queer, woman, mother, wife and researcher who is dedicated to collective liberation.
