Yael Shy

Senior Director, NYU Global Spiritual Life

Yael Shy, is the Senior Director of the NYU Office of Global Spiritual Life and the Of Many Institute for Multifaith Leadership. Shy has been practicing meditation for over 13 years, and served as the first Director of Development of the Brooklyn Zen Center. She is a graduate of the Jewish Mindfulness Teacher Training Program through the Institute for Jewish Spirituality in 2009, and was a co­‐founder of the Jewish Meditation Center of Brooklyn in 2008. In 2010, she was named one of the “36 under 36” change‐makers transforming the Jewish world by the Jewish Week newspaper. She is an alumna of New York University’s College of Arts and Sciences and Northeastern University School of Law.
