Yanmei Xie

Yanmei Xie returned to her native land to become International Crisis Group’s China Analyst after ten years of studying and working in the United States. Before settling back into Beijing, she was a journalist in Washington DC, first covering the US Congress and national politics as a public radio reporter then a freelance TV producer. Later she became a print reporter for Platts covering energy issues. She has a master’s degree in finance from George Washington University and a master’s degree in mass communications from Miami University. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English and international studies from China Foreign Affairs University in Beijing.
