Yasmine Taeb is an attorney specializing in civil rights and civil liberties. Previously, she served as the Government Relations Manager for the Arab American Institute and as a 2013-2014 Fellow at the Center for American Progress (CAP) Leadership Institute. She has substantial legislative experience and has served as a Legislative Fellow for Rep. Karen Bass (D-CA), Ranking Member on the House Foreign Affairs Africa, Global Health, Global Human Rights, and International Organizations Subcommittee. She advised the Member on homeland security, foreign policy, defense, and civil and human rights issues. Yasmine holds a J.D. from the Penn State Dickinson School of Law, pursued an M.A. in Islam and Muslim-Christian Relations at Georgetown University, and holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Florida. Yasmine's writings and commentaries have appeared in The Hill, The Huffington Post, Newsweek, ThinkProgress, Al Jazeera English, AlterNet, and Middle East Eye. She has appeared as a commentator on Democracy Now!, CCTV America, Al Jazeera English, HuffPost Live, as well as numerous radio programs.
