Civil rights activist and university professor
Yiombi Thona is a renowned rights activist and university professor living in Gwangju South Korea. A former refugee from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mr Thona fled for safety in 2002 and has been living in Korea ever since. He has published a book “My name is Yiombi: Living as a Refugee in South Korea" and he is currently the Chair of the Asia Pacific Refugee Rights Network (APRRN).
