Yolo Akili Robinson is a writer, emotional health advocate, Yoga teacher and the founder and executive director of BEAM (The Black Emotional and Mental Health Collective). Through BEAM Yolo leads the cultivation of creative strategies and programs that address and support Black mental health through a social justice lens. In addition Yolo is the author of the social justice themed affirmation book Dear Universe: Letters of Affirmation & Empowerment For All Of Us, a book which led him to be named a "Health Hero" by B.E.T. His writings have appeared in the Huffington Post, Ebony, The Good Men Project, TheBody.com, The Atlanta Journal Constitution, Everyday Feminisms and much more.
