Kimberly Kiel

Global Clinical Trial Manager and Scientist in the Pharmaceutical Industry

As a Global Clinical Trial Manager and Scientist who has worked in the Pharmaceutical industry for over 15 years, Kimberly Kiel strives to support, motivate and encourage young students, especially girls and underrepresented minorities, who are interested in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (S.T.E.M.) fields. She has worked at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals (now Pfizer) as a Clinical Scientist and has traveled domestically and internationally while monitoring clinical trials, specifically for compounds to treat infectious diseases. Kiel attended the Texas Academy of Leadership in the Humanities and completed her last two years of high school and first two years of college concurrently while living on a college campus. At age 16, she became the youngest fellow at Penn State University's College of Biotechnlogy. Kiel studied HPLC extraction, gel electrophoresis, TLC, RNA isolation and Peruvian/andean tubers and their link to ovarian cancer through a grant funded by the McKnight Association and National Science Foundation (NSF). After graduating from Penn State University in 2002, she has worked within the Research and Development arenas throughout the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. She currently manages oncology trials on a global scale for new compounds, began her #ScienceIsSexy STEM Lecture Series in 2017 and currently mentors young students interested in the STEM field. Aside from her lifelong love of science, Kimberly attributes her success to her faith in God, supportive parents, a selfless mother, strong teacher/faculty mentors and tons of lipgloss. She enjoys tennis, golf, mentoring, playing violin and is a motivational speaker and Co-founder of Sevenfold747.
