Yovanka Sanchez

Yovanka is producing her first feature film called ‘”Dressed In Sugar” a Mexican - American story about a Latina heroine. At the same time she is the creator, producer, director of the digital project “WeAreHere”, a series of inspirational stories about Latin inmigrant entrepreneurs who have accomplish the “American Dream”. Also through her production company La Mariposa Films she has produced various advertainments for important brands in the U.S. and Latin America. In addition Yovanka, toghether with Fundación Mario E. Moreno, A.C. is working on bringing back to life a 3D animated series and film about famous Mexican comedian ”Cantinflas”, known as the “Charlie Chaplin of México,” who has made so many people laugh with his movies.

• The critically acclaimed tv documentary Ana Gabriel Mi Historia. (Telemundo Network).

• The prime time special (Univision Network) La India Maria. The first time this famous mexican actress gave a television interview, and it reached 7.8 million viewers.

Yovanka gained her B.A. in Film and Communications (“with and emphasis in film”) from the University of Miami. Her earliest entertainment role was in front of the cameras, in the television industry. She began her career in Televisa Mexico’s and Latin America most important TV Company. After leaving Televisa she joined Univision, the number one Hispanic TV network in the USA, she worked as producer and host for an important news magazine show (Primer Impacto). Here she was also part of many of their prime-time specials. Leaving Univision she started her own production company were she produced and directed documentaries and various prime time special interviews for Telemundo Network, the second largest Hispanic TV network of the United States. A couple of years ago Yovanka established La Mariposa Films, a production company focused on producing projects for the Hispanics in the USA with an emphasis in films for women. Under La Mariposa Films Yovanka has also produced various television commercials and different kinds of productions for clients and businesses’. Yovanka is also the daughter of illustrious Mexican writer Fernando Sanchez Mayans, sister of famous Mexican actress Monika Sanchez, cousin of popular TV host Marco Regil and renowned actor Kuno Becker.
