Indigenous Trans Man of Color and USMC Vet

Z Shane Zaldivar is a Former Marine and Community Advocate. He is currently working on his second decade of community outreach work. He is a well rounded community advocate who has worked in policy and legislation, community outreach, community organizing, event organizing, and community education. He uses the vehicle of intersectionality to bring together and educate marginalized communities to work work together to achieve full and sustainable equality. Z is currently the Hotline Program Director for the Trans Lifeline providing operator support and leadership. His passion for crisis intervention came from his own personal struggles with suicidality and the struggles he has seen his fellow Former Marines deal with. His goal is to provide the operators with the support and tools they need to continue to provide the transgender community with the individual crisis intervention care they need with compassion and understanding.
