Violence Prevention Coordinator at University of California, Irvine
Zabie Khorakiwala received her undergraduate degree in psychology and social behavior and education at the University of California, Irvine, and pursued graduate work in higher education administration and student affairs at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She is a certified trauma-sensitive yoga instructor.
In her role as Violence Prevention Coordinator at University of California, Irvine, Zabie manages the university's prevention and educational programs related to sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, and stalking. In addition to her role in prevention, she also is the founder of Transcending Sexual Violence through Yoga and teaches a trauma-sensitive yoga as healing program for survivors of sexual violence on campus and in the community. She has created a model program and curriculum that is being implemented across the nation.
