Baby Boomers...........

OK, I'm just not satisfied, comfortable or excited about referring to my girlfriend Darla as my "girlfriend".

Do you know what I mean?

I'm 57 years old now and it just doesn't sound right.

"Girlfriends" are for elementary, high school and college.

Darla is not a girl anymore.

She's a woman.................and what a woman.

Every sexy inch of her exudes woman.

But I digress.

Darla is in her 50's as well and I'm sure she struggles with calling me her "boyfriend."

So what "terms of endearment" do celebrities and dignitaries use?

I'm sure it must be truly uncomfortable for a card carrying member of the "glitterati" to show up at a business affair or a "red carpet" event dressed in their Kanye West suit with the woman of their dreams decked out in stunning Marchesa evening wear and have to introduce her as his "girlfriend."

That's like driving around in a Maserati with a bumper sticker stating "My Other Car is a Prius."

So what are Baby Boomers supposed to call their "mates" now-a-days?

Do men call their woman woman?

Or is "lady friend" better?

That sounds too old.

Should women refer to us as their "old man?"

God, I hope not.

How about "partner" or "liaison", "amour", "companion" or "consort."

I just don't know.

I need your help......both men and women.

Let me know what you think is the most appropriate phrase to use for your "not yet a spouse."

Let's see if we can put our heads together and settle this puzzler once and for all.
