"How can you hear your own soul if everyone is talking?" -- Mary Doria Russell

We are given this life, one that is uniquely ours. The value of our life is precious. In this body, at this time we are here for a limited period. It's interesting how much of our time we spend not on ourselves and what excites us but on everyone else's agendas.

Throughout your day, notice how often you say "yes" to something you are being asked to do by someone else. It can be all to easy to pile stuff into our day and live in accordance with others agendas, not our own.

If you have only to follow your excitement for the day, no other plans, and someone asks you to do X for them, or with them, it's not a dirty word to say "no" and simply stick with your own agenda.

This doesn't mean you go around saying "no" to everyone and everything that approaches you, but it does mean you place yourself first and think through deeply the actions that others are making you commit to.

Remember when you say "yes" to someone you are saying "no" to someone or something else. This principle often shows up first thing in the morning, most people leap out of bed and check their phones (or check them in bed). When you are on Facebook, checking your emails or responding to comments from the night before you honoring someone else's agenda first thing in the morning.

It's important to be conscious of this, as small things like checking Facebook and emails in the morning can really retract from taking care of your soul self and doing the soul work.

This week be conscious where you give away your agenda to others, and start to honor your own agenda more.
