10 Creative Apps We Love: From The Getty Collection's Highlights To T.S. Eliot's 'The Waste Land' (SLIDESHOW)

10 Best Creative Apps...So Far

We’ve covered a lot of news lately about creative app launches in the technological world -- from musician M. Ward’s free app that allows users to locate independent radio stations to an iPad app that chronicles legendary choreographer Merce Cunningham’s life and career. In other words, the artistic world is now at our fingertips.

Today we add another exciting launch to our growing list of stellar artistic apps: The J. Paul Getty Museum Highlights of the Collection. With one simple tap of the screen, 150 of the museum’s most adored works of art are available for the small screen. Each work is accompanied by brief commentary and can be viewed in great detail. “This app is the result of our commitment to finding more ways for the public to get access and engage with our collections,” James Cuno, president and CEO of the J. Paul Getty Trust, noted in the press release.

More and more artists, museums, bands, and even choreographers are exploring new ways to share their art through technology. We’ve compiled a slideshow of some of our favorite creative and artistic apps for all you technology buffs out there. (Be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section as well as any notable additions we may have missed.)
