10 Things That May Be Causing Your Energy to Tank

One of the most common concerns I hear about is lack of energy.

There are numerous things that can contribute to us feeling like we are on an empty tank. Here are a few, some of which you will need to ask your physician about:

  1. Thyroid issues: If they only test TSH, they’ve missed some critical components as to whether or not you truly have a thyroid issue. If they test T3 and T4, you’re likely to get a more accurate diagnosis.
  2. Adrenal fatigue: You’ve stressed yourself to the brink and your adrenals are wiped.
  3. Lack of self-care: That project overtakes you and you don’t take care of yourself. Schedule in breaks, take walks, relax, read, stretch, get massages, take baths, whatever it takes to make you feel cared for and allow you to decompress.
  4. Eating junk: Eating too much sugar overworks the pancreas, drinking caffeine does all kinds of damage, and processed food is filled with GMOs, sugar, unfamiliar ingredients, and unhealthy carbs. On the contrary, eating the right combination of healthy foods (healthy carbs, fats, and quality protein) gives you energy as intended by nature. 5. Irregular eating habits: If you aren’t eating healthy foods every 3 to 4 hours, your body is being allowed to go through unnecessary highs and lows. Blood sugar highs and lows make you feel tired and cranky!
  6. You’re not drinking water: Your body needs water to function and detox. Drink half of your body weight in ounces each day. Side tip – if you are getting cravings, you may just need water.
  7. Allowing stress to take over: If you don’t try to manage stress, it manages you, releasing mass amounts of cortisol and wreaking havoc on your body. Grab my Stress Closet Cleanout program for FREE in my Facebook group for women in business at http://hhwigroup.com.
  8. Lack of exercise: Exercise is energizing. It increases chemicals in the body that you need to feel good.
  9. Food allergies: This is a common side effect of food allergies and intolerances. Often times, you will crash immediately after eating something you are allergic to but sometimes it takes a few hours or even a day or two before it hits you.
  10. Poor sleeping habits: You typically need 8 hours of sleep per day. Some people can get away with 7. Sleep is your body’s time to regenerate and lack of sleep is also linked to those hunger hormones getting out of whack!

There are certainly more causes than this and it typically takes a strategic approach with a health coach to nip it in the bud but certainly well worth the one-time investment!
