$10,000 In Wedding Gifts Stolen From Jason, Amy Wright In Pennsylvania

Wedding Heist: Thieves Grab $10,000 In Gifts

If they can make it through this, they can make it through anything.

Newlyweds Amy and Jason Wright were horrified when they woke up on Sunday to learn that $10,000 in cash, checks and presents had vanished overnight, NBC Philadelphia reports.

"Somebody was like, 'Amy did you open your gifts yet?'" Amy Wright told the station. "And I said, 'No we didn't open them yet,' and then someone said, 'Well, where are the gifts?'"

The couple was married at a private farmhouse in Springfield Township the night before. Wright said they accidentally left the gifts outside, right near a tent where the couple was sleeping.

She said she found empty envelopes and gift bags scattered around the property. Adding insult to injury, Wright found torn wedding cards floating in a pond on the property. She said she broke down when she found the tattered evidence, according to Yahoo News.

"Who would do this? To take the memory of the night, and to end it in this way was just so heartbreaking for both of us," she said.

She told the Morning Call that she was forced to contact all of her family members and ask what they gave, which was "embarrassing."

The Wrights are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the perp's arrest, but so far there aren't any leads.
