The 2016 Presidential Campaign Is Marge's Worst Nightmare In New 'Simpsons' Clip

"What is it with these ding-dongs?"

Leave it to "The Simpsons" to deliver a spot-on commentary on the terrifying reality that is the 2016 presidential campaign.

In a new clip, which Screen Crush reports isn't part of any specific episode, the iconic animated comedy takes aim at the current crop of candidates, leaving no one, including Donald Trump's hair, off limits.

In the two-and-a-half-minute clip, Marge wakes from a nightmare, in which actual audio recordings from various campaigns can be heard, and begins hyperventilating. Just thinking about the current state of politics, which Homer explains is like a bad dream you can't wake up from, has Marge stressing hard.

"I can’t take it anymore!" she yells. "Basic manners are gone from politics. What is it with these ding-dongs?" (We'd also like to know the answer to that question, TBH.)

When Homer reminds his wife to think happy thoughts about the candidates, she soon imagines Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Marco Rubio, Donald Trump and others breaking into song. The camaraderie doesn't last, though, thanks to Trump, who of course blames everyone but himself for being "flat."

"I guess dreaming doesn't work," Homer notes in a sad attempt to comfort Marge (and us).
