The Second Annual FantaSea: Where Magic Lives ushered in Spring at The Queen Mary in Long Beach in style. A wide variety of illusionists, comedians, and performance artists entertained crowds. Wizard Alley in the ship’s Royal Wedding Chapel hosted Funny Eddie, who showed his hand with card tricks and feats of illusion with a comedic edge.
The Hocus Pocus Lounge in the Britannia Salon kept audiences well entertained with a wide variety of performers. Siegfried Tieber is a master of cards and illusion, charming the crowd with his wit and winning smile.
For the romantics, there was the incomparable Lindsay Benner. Her juggling prowess is highlighted in an enchanting love story that needs only a willing audience participant. Her presence filled the room, and made the entire crowd fall a little bit in love.
Joel Ward was also featured. His tales of life on the tough streets of La Jolla compliment his humor and talent as he made a wedding ring disappear into thin air with a trick he performed previously for Penn and Teller.
But tricks and magic weren’t the only sublime feature of the 2nd Annual FantaSea. Magic Ice Cream, Magic Mixology cocktails and spirits, and a wide variety of gourmet food also made for an excellent day.
The evening was crowned with Night of Illusions featuring Derek Hughes, Christopher Hart, and David & Leeman. This spectacular show was followed by the fascinatingly chilling Mind Reading Mentalist Max Maven.
A fun weekend for kids and adults alike, mark your calendar for next year’s festival. Fans of magic and illusion will not be disappointed and the wide variety of tours such as the Haunted Encounters Ghost Tour give everyone a chance to experience the history and grandeur of the Queen Mary.
