'30 Rock': Alec Baldwin Offered Paycut For Additional Seasons

What Alec Baldwin Would've Sacrificed For More '30 Rock'

"30 Rock" Season 8? Alec Baldwin tried to make it happen. The Emmy-winning star of the NBC comedy revealed on Twitter that he tried to get NBC to keep the series going by taking a paycut.

NBC had no comment on the tweet.

Baldwin, who plays Jack Donaghy, an NBC honcho on the series, has starred on "30 Rock" since it debuted in 2006. The show kicks off its seventh and final season on Thursday, October 4 at 8 p.m. ET.

Both Baldwin and series star/creator Tina Fey had been hinting that Season 7 would be the last for the series some time. However, Fey still hasn't written the final lines of "30 Rock."

"We started having a conversation of what we wanted our final images to be," Fey told The Huffington Post on the red carpet of the "30 Rock" Season 7 premiere party. "It got really emotional, so we kind of backed off it. Then we said -- every day at lunch our writers take a little break and watch a TV show and most times it's 'Honey Boo Boo' or 'Breaking Amish' and I was like, 'Guys, maybe we should start watching some classic TV finales.'"
