429 LGBT Magazine Kickstarter Launched By Former Vanity Fair, Surface Magazine Editors

WATCH: A New LGBT Magazine Needs Your Help!

In this digital age where gay magazines are either filing for bankruptcy or folding altogether, it may seem like an odd time to launch a new print publication, but that isn't stopping the team behind 429 Magazine, a new bi-monthly bible for the LGBT community.

Kevin Sessums, former Contributing Editor for Vanity Fair, is the Editor-In-Chief of 429, while Richard Klein, the founder of Surface Magazine, will serve as CEO. To help with the funding for the magazine, a 429 Kickstarter fundraiser has been launched with a goal of $10,000 to bring the magazine to your mailbox. As it says on the Kickstarter page the magazine will be: "Covering the latest news and innovations in technology, entertainment, design, media and politics, 429 magazine showcases how LGBT people are living in the context of the larger world."

As of this writing the 429 Kickstarter has raised almost $6,000 of it's $10,000 goal, so if you're tired of flipping through your city's weekly gay guide, or another monthly magazine of shirtless torsos and super-expensive fashion shoots (okay, you're not tired of that, but adding another magazine of substance couldn't hurt), then help 429 reach their goal, and bring a new magazine for the LGBT community to your local newsstand.
