When you travel to a B&B, one of the best parts is devouring a delicious homemade breakfast in the morning that starts your day off right. Some inns also have onsite restaurants that extend the culinary experience into the evening. We’ve put together five of our favorite bed and breakfasts for foodie lovers that offer both.

Located in Taneytown, Maryland and nestled at the foot of the rolling Catoctin Mountains in central Maryland, Antrim 1844 Country House Hotel is an award-winning travel experience acclaimed for its cuisine, extensive wine cellar, and luxurious accommodations. Built in 1844, Antrim was once a thriving plantation adaptively redesigned by husband and wife team, Richard and Dorothy Mollett, who have masterfully restored the Mansion and estate buildings on this 24-acre site. The property offers 40 guest accommodations in total with nine guestrooms within the Mansion and thirty-one additional rooms and suites located in the unique outbuildings on the property.

Guests will wake to a continental breakfast tray served outside their door with an option to make their way to the Mansion where a full country-style breakfast is served. Afternoon tea and evening hors d’oeuvres are served in the Formal Drawing Room, while Executive Chef Spencer Wolff prepares a unique menu every evening consisting of hand passed hors d’oeuvres, amuse bouche, elegant appetizers, a chic salad, intermezzo, amazing entrées, and a Panache of desserts at the property’s Smokehouse Restaurant. Antrim 1844 will happily lend their expertise in selecting the perfect pairing from their wine cellar of over 19,000 fine bottles of wine with over 2,600 selections.

Opened as an inn in 1844, Deerfield Inn has been hosting travelers for over 150 years. Located in the bucolic village of Deerfield, Massachusetts the property offers guests twenty-four charming guest rooms of various sizes to accommodate any traveler’s needs with eleven rooms in the main house and thirteen in the newly renovated carriage house. Guests can explore the mile-long village streetscape, take in the rich architectural heritage, and decompress in the serenity, friendliness, and charm of the inn's rural setting.

Breakfast is made onsite from scratch every morning from the freshest local and seasonal ingredients and consists of freshly baked pastries, house made granola and yogurt, and hot entrées. For dinner, guests can dine at the inn’s onsite tavern, Champney’s Restaurant, that offers seasonal menus reflecting the New England’s homegrown culinary traditions with everything made in house including sauces, stocks, yogurt, beer batter, desserts, and pastries. In addition to the ever-changing menu, the restaurant only sources ingredients that have been farmed and raised ethically.

Every morning guests can indulge in a gourmet country breakfast served at the inn’s onsite restaurant, The Table, or if weather permits on the property’s outdoor terrace.

Serving lunch, brunch, and dinner, The Table restaurant strives to provide a menu emphasizing local food sources. Chef Robert Cappetta tantalizes the palettes of his guests with a menu of farm-to-table creations that change seasonally in addition to featured wine pairings. Surrounded by water and steeped in history, guests can tour several historic sites and engage in several water activities such as fishing, boating, and explore one of the region’s oldest waterways via its vast canoe trails. Situated on the shores of pristine Pleasant Lake across from majestic Mount Kearsarge is the historic Inn at Pleasant Lake located in New London, NH. The structure's beginnings date back to 1790 when a local farmer built a farmhouse and barn while in 1878, a retired Union officer bought the building and added a row of deep gables on top of the existing Cape Cod-styled property and named his summer resort, The Red Gables Inn, which remained the name for over a hundred years. The Inn on Pleasant Lake continues this longstanding tradition offering guests an amazing Sunapee getaway that embraces both the building and the region's history while offering modern day amenities.
