Becoming a good boxer is no easy task and one needs to make lots of sacrifices in order to be tough and win matches in the ring. 1. Start off by joining boxing classes

- Uppercut; this kind of a punch will end up on your opponents chin and is often thrown when in close range with your opponent. It is usually very lethal!

- Southpaw; often for left-handed fighters who have been converted.

- Outside and inside fighter; if you an outside fighter you are the type who keeps your distance and then stepping in for a jab. If you an inside fighter you stay close and using moves like the uppercut.

3. Commence a complete physical training schedule

Physical training is key to any person who wants to get successful in any sport be it in tennis, soccer, rugby etc. If you want to become that great boxing champ then you need engage yourself with physical exercises such as bag punching, carrying of weights, circuit training and rope jumping. You should not however restrict your training just to the ring as some people usually think.

4. Do intense workouts

It is advisable that aspiring boxers do intensive workouts at least 3 to 4 times every week and the workouts should last for about 90 minutes. Boxing based workouts should involve the following; at least 20 minutes of sit-ups and push-ups, 20 minutes of stationery bike training, and thirty minutes of jogging. Jumping the ropes for 10 minutes, plus ten minutes of sparring on a punch bag is also desirable.

5. Take an athlete’s diet

All sports people let alone professional boxer usually follow a strict diet guideline. That said if you want to become that good boxer you need to eat only the good foods that will help you get better in the ring. You will not achieve much with all that training if you don’t eat well as per a boxer’s requirement. Consult your training to advise you about the right diet for you.
