Neither ladies nor men are mind readers, so extra help with the opposite sex can be helpful when deciding if he's really interested.
Every person has different likes and dislikes, so it can be hard to figure out if your date is feeling a vibe between you. Some guys show their interest more readily than others, and you can be left wondering how the date really went. His body language can communicate his interest without him realizing it, so use these cues to help decipher your date.
Cue #1: He will direct his entire upper body towards the woman he's interested in. Another related position is for him to point his feet at you. It's possible he may mirror your actions, for example crossing his legs or leaning to the side, which also indicates interest.
Cue #2: The guy will make consistent eye contact for longer than 5 seconds, and he'll also flick his eyes back and forth from you to what's in front of him. If you notice him staring at you, then looking away and back, then he's interested.
Cue #3: He'll offer you physical support, such as a hand while climbing stairs or out of a car. He could also guide you by putting his hand on the small of your back. Accidental-on-purpose touches from him indicate that he's trying to get closer to you.
Cue #4: The guy will sit close to you, or stand next to you. If you find him in your personal space, then he likes being close to you. Another indicator is if the guy leans in while talking or listening to you. Men don't usually direct their bodies towards one person, but will if they're interested.
Cue #5: If you're cold, he'll lend you his jacket. Not only does this show his willingness to make you comfortable, it also sends signals to other guys that you're off limits. Lending you a jacket also means that he has to stay and reclaim the jacket when you leave, giving him a reason to stay close.
These cues are a good start to interpreting the guy you're interested in. If your date is playing hard to get, you can read his body language to figure out what he really wants. A date isn't the only place these are handy, you can also use these cues with the shy guy from your office or the delivery man who lingers to talk to you.
