It’s that time of year again! NBA players across the country have been encouraging their fans to tweet their votes for the 2017 NBA All-Star Game. This year, like every year since its inception, the competition is steep. Here are just a few reasons why Chris Paul, also known as CP3, should be your #1 choice this year!

1. He’s Consistently One of The Best Players in The League

CP3 is consistently one of the best point guards in the League. He currently ranks 4th in the NBA in assists, and is one of the Top 10 NBA All-Time Assists Leaders. But playing with excellence has always been his M.O. In 2008, Chris became the first NBA player ever with at least 30 points and 10 assists in his first two playoff games.

2. He’s Your Favorite Celebrity’s Favorite Celebrity

Chris is not only respected by his fans and teammates, he’s respected by his fellow celebrity peers. From Manny Pacquiao to Terrell Owens and Jesse Williams, celebrities across the board have supported Chris and his endeavours. LL Cool J jumped at the opportunity to help him raise money for L.A. youth this past fall. Last year, Justin Bieber even encouraged his fans to vote for CP3 via Twitter.

3. He is a True Family Man

Family is more than a word to Chris, it’s a core value and a priority. Chris’s brother, C.J., is one one his best friends and his business manager. He credits his parents with raising himself and C.J. to be thankful for everything they receive. Before every game in college, Chris clutched a laminated copy of his grandfather’s obituary as the national anthem was played, and in high school, intentionally set a record scoring 61 points the day after his grandfather's death (his grandfather died at the age of 61). Chris and his family were contestants on Family Feud during the NBA lockout in 2011. That same year, he married his college sweetheart. They now have two adorable children together!

4. He’s a Leader On and Off the Court

In addition to being a point guard for the Los Angeles Clippers and President of the NBA Players Association (NBAPA), he is a leader amongst his peers. He convinced, VP of the NBAPA, LeBron James, to try Instagram, where “King James” now has more than 27 million followers. Leadership is nothing new to Chris! He was also the President of his senior class in high school.

5. He’s No Stranger To Hard Work

Although we all love and know him for his impressive basketball career, Chris has never been afraid of a little hard work! He has worked as a cashier, rotated tires, and even changed air filters for a service station that was owned by his grandfather. Talk about a great role model. In fact, Chris and his brother weren’t allowed to play basketball in high school unless they maintained a 3.0 GPA.

6. He’s “Beautiful” On the Inside and On the Outside

In 2006, Chris was named by People Magazine as one of the world’s 100 Most Beautiful People. But don’t let his charm and good looks fool you! He is well known for giving back to his community. In 2005, Chris and his family established the CP3 Foundation. The foundation’s emphasis on community involvement has won them the NBA’s Community Assist Award three times in his 12-year career. The Foundation partnerships with Feed the Children, Make-A-Wish, Salvation Army, B&G Clubs, LA’s Best Afterschool programs, Leapz & Bounds and a number of other organizations, aim to support education, literacy and technology enrichment, and health and wellness initiatives.
