So your mommy friend started a blog. Will this be the beginning of the end of your friendship? Will life ever be the same? You wonder if she will share stories of your play dates or trips to the museum with the world. I'm here to put your fears to rest. And to convince you why you should support your budding blogging mommy friend.
1. It only takes a few minutes.
Reading your friend's mommy blog only takes a few minutes. On the other hand, she spent countless days hoping for a few minutes during nap time to complete a post. She was creating her Pinterest images while breastfeeding her baby. And she was making notes in her colorful blogging journal during bath time. She will be forever grateful for the five minutes you took to read and comment on her hard work.
2. She may be pouring out her soul.
It's not uncommon for mommy bloggers to truly open up online. Remember that time you told your life story to a stranger? Well, that's kind of what happens on mommy blogs. Your friend may be telling the world about her depression, or struggle with being a mom, or the grief she experienced during a miscarriage. And yet she may be too scared to open up to the people closest to her. Read her blog -- she needs you to.
3. She may be smarter than you think.
You may be pleasantly surprised by how much you love her posts on parenting or crafting or organization. It could just inspire you to go all KonMari on your closet too! It will open up a whole new part of your friendship. You could share post ideas with her or let her know you tried her latest craft with your toddler. Just wait until you see how her face lights up!
4. It's better than buying her a gift.
Believe it or not, mommy blogs make money, even if it's just $100 a month. But every time you visit her blog, you increase her page views. And ad companies pay for page views. And every time you share her post, other people visit her site and increase her page views. Send her enough of these little clicks and views and you could actually be sending her money. And it did not cost you a thing! So next time you need to buy her a birthday present, go for the cheaper item, because you know you've already sent her a gift in the form of page views.
5. You'll make her day -- heck, maybe even her month!
If you're a mom, you know how difficult it is to take on anything else when you are working and raising a family. The laundry in itself could be a full time job! So when you show your mommy blogger friend that you support her, you'll make all her hard work worth it. Just one nice comment can turn her day around. And few more page views makes a huge difference when her new blog only gets 32 page views a day.
