Celebrate the 100th anniversary of Beverly Hills in high style with five brand-new hotel experiences available only through the end of 2014. In honor of the centenary of one of the world's most glamorous cities, five luxurious Beverly Hills hotels have each created a unique new suite designed to transport visitors back in time to different decades in Bev Hills history. Referred to as "Suite 100," this collaborative effort between the Beverly Hilton, the Beverly Hills Hotel, L'Ermitage Beverly Hills, Montage Beverly Hills, and the Peninsula Beverly Hills provides limited-time opportunities for sumptuous luxuriating, as each suite will be no more come 2015. I recently visited each hotel's newly created suites. Unique and gorgeous, each has a theme, such as film noir, the golden age inspired by Marilyn Monroe, high-gloss 1970s glamour, a stylishly sophisticated view of the 1960s, and the birth of modern glamour.

Montage Beverly Hills: "Film Noir"

The allure of the 1940s and film noir is captured in the Montage Beverly Hills' Suite 100. Created by interior designer Nina Petronzio, the glamorous, sophisticated surroundings are reminiscent of a set designed by Cedric Gibbons during the golden days of MGM. The lavish environment features Art Deco-inspired furniture and luxurious details including sumptuous fabrics and wall coverings; 1940s Lalique crystal; and museum-quality collectibles. More special touches include a vintage Underwood typewriter; literature and games of the period; a 1940s cocktail menu with drinks named for five creative luminaries of the period (Ernest Hemingway, Carson McCullers, William Faulkner, Eugene O'Neill, and Alfred Hitchcock) and a "Press for Champagne" button that promptly summons a bellboy bearing bubbly. Though inspired by film noir, the suite is more glamorous than gritty, but hey, this is Beverly Hills.

The Beverly Hilton: "Stylish, Sophisticated Sixties: A Re-Imagined Revolution"

The mid-century modern Beverly Hilton hosts a Suite 100 that's a dream come true for Mad Men fans. Created by Tom Ford Design, the suite includes The Beatles, Alfred Hitchcock and Audrey Hepburn among its design inspirations. Its features include a working 1960s console TV; a trio display of vintage Barbies, including a 1963 "Career Girl" Barbie, a second dressed as Tippi Hedren in The Birds, and a third paying homage to Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's; another nod to The Birds via vintage Italian bedside lamps with bird bases; a room service menu (a find from the hotel's archives) with '60s prices (including a $1.15 martini); steel wire Warren Platner chairs; and expansive views due to the suite's top-floor location.

Beverly Hills Hotel: "The Golden Age Inspired by Marilyn Monroe"

One of Southern California's most iconic hotels, the Beverly Hills Hotel pays homage to one of its most glamorous repeat visitors: Marilyn Monroe. The platinum-blonde screen legend adored the hotel oft referred to as the Pink Palace, and was a frequent guest. Designer Adam Tihany's suite dedicated to the blonde bombshell includes such features as curved furniture, ceilings and walls; a library of Marilyn-related books and films; 1950s songs played at turndown service; a grand piano; a breathtaking mid-century modern sycamore-wood bar; tropical prints; and a verdant, well-furnished private patio perfect for throwing a party. Optional add-ons include a Marilyn Monroe Champagne bath (served with Dom Perignon, MM's favorite); a bottle of Chanel No. 5; and dinner for two from a special Marilyn-inspired menu.

L'Ermitage Beverly Hills: "The Era of Studio 54 - Fashion and Art Collide"

Suite 100 at the L'Ermitage Beverly Hills, tucked away on a quiet street off of Rodeo Drive, encapsulates all of the high-fashion decadence of the disco era. Designer Ken Fulk was inspired by his vision of Halston's ultimate apartment, resulting in a suite that brings to mind such über-chic icons of the period as Bianca Jagger, Andy Warhol, and Studio 54. The suite boasts a closet of vintage-inspired Halston Heritage clothing; an iPad photo booth; a disco ball; furniture made of ultrasuede (Halston's signature fabric); Warhol artwork depicting Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe; an abundance of orchids; a powder room with wallpaper reproducing 1970s Interview magazine covers; glossy mirrored and lacquered finishes; and the piece de resistance: an elevated catwalk perfect for spontaneous fashion shows.

Peninsula Beverly Hills: "The Birth of Modern Luxury"

The Peninsula's Suite 100, the most contemporary of them all, pays homage to the 1990s, with a décor that bridges classic Hollywood with today -- appropriate for a hotel that opened in 1991. Included among the suite's many features are a photographic wall mural depicting a red-carpet Hollywood event; plush white rugs atop ebony wood floors; dining chairs upholstered in luxe crimson leather; a dazzling crystal chandelier; a 1990s film and music collection; an extensive balcony suitable for throwing a party; a large, luxurious bathroom with mirrored walls; the use of a private pool cabana; a spa treatment for two at the Peninsula's spa; and local transportation in a luxury vehicle.
