So, I didn't watch the Oscars. I never do. I always wait till the next morning, and they'll tell me what I want to know. This year, I was definitely curious about what happened with Chris Rock hosting the Oscars. Would he skate over the race issue, or would he hit it head first, like he's done all these other years.

Well, he did it! He went over the top.

I'm sure most points have been covered, so I want to uncover a few hidden messages that you may have missed. In descending order.

1. Let's start with Chris Rock in that white suit. He knows that it was way too white. Even he kept pulling on it, cause it just wasn't right. Hence the #oscarssowhite, maybe that was his message. His suit was so white, we could start a "it's so white" joke. I'll leave that for the comedians. Or maybe it was a secret gesture. 'I'm black, but I'll blend in for the night, and pay homage on behalf of the others'.

2. The second message. Chris Rock compared Leo DiCaprio to Jamie Foxx. I know people were like WTH. 'Jamie Foxx ain't no Leonardo DiCaprio!' But do you remember that Jamie beat Leonardo DiCaprio the year of Ray. Do you remember that two of the four years that Leo lost, he lost to black men?

Chris Rock mentioned Leo again when he talks about blacks just wanting equal opportunity. He says Leo "gets a good role every year." That's why he seems in a higher bracket than Jamie Foxx. Exposure. Opportunity. Imagine a world where Jamie Foxx was in a leading role every year, cue music... Oh yeah, and don't forget about my beloved Denzel Washington. That's two times I'd for sure be at the movies. I haven't seen them in a while. Are they not good actors anymore?

3. Let's talk about Leonardo DiCaprio one more time. My facebook page was blowing up. "People" were so happy Leo won. He has a hell of a publicist. They used this racial injustice in Leo's favor. 'Poor Leo, he's never won an Oscar'. What?? I had no idea that he'd never won. He's always mentioned as "Oscar nominated". He gets movie roles like an Oscar winner. I'm sure he gets paid like an Oscar winner. Who would have thought that little dude from Catch Me If You Can, would go on to be lead man year after year. There is no role untouched by this poor soul who has never won an Oscar. I digress. You get the point. But the Powers that Be, decided to right this four hundred year, I mean four year wrong. Congrats Leo, you're an Oscar winner. You have suffered enough....

4. This one is really my favorite of all. I don't want anyone to miss it. Chris Rock told Sylvester Stallone, that his Rocky movies were "science fiction"! Omg! I almost fell out my chair when he said "Rocky takes place in a world where white athletes are as good as black athletes." He said Star Wars was more "realistic." This was reverse racism at its finest. To look a race of people in their face, in their schools, in their media, in their career, and tell them they will never be as good as another race, except in make believe. That genetically, it is impossible for you too be as good as them. Sound familiar. This, my friends, is what white people have said to blacks every since they stole them from Africa. Yes, stole. Ever since they told the slave owners that blacks were not human. We eventually graduated to 3/5s a person. We/They have always been told we are not good enough. How did it feel? Oh, you say, I'm reading too much into it. Am I?

5. This brings me to my final point. This one actually pissed me off. I've been pissed off several times here lately. The whole Beyonce thing, and now this. "People" were actually calling Chris Rock a racist. "They" said he was "over the top" "went too far" "too much" "you're playing the race card." 400+ years black people have been in slavery. 400+ years we have been saying "too much" "too far" "over the top" "ouch that hurts" "can't we all just get along" (Rodney King). Yet we are still gasping for air, and begging our oppressors for mercy! "You" can't handle a ten minute monologue by a comedian?? Just goes to show that you could never walk in our shoes. You weren't built for it.

I know "over the top" "too much."

Chris Rock, I salute you. You were the man for the job. Thank you for stepping up to the plate and swinging as if black lives depended upon it. It's not about the Oscars. Who cares about that anyway. It's about a race of people, still trying to be recognized as humanly good enough.
