Dandelion Chocolate at the Northwest Chocolate Festival

The West Coast is always a step or two ahead of the rest of the country in terms of food trends, and Seattle is no exception. The Emerald City boasts so many food-related festivals that there's always a reason to visit. Here are the essential must-attend events in town.

Northwest Chocolate Festival
Every November thousands of chocolate fans descend on the city for a whirlwind taste test of chocolate bars that will knock your socks off. In particular the festival focuses on smaller companies that make their chocolate bean to bar.

Seattle International Beerfest
With the motto "Taste the greatest beers you've never heard of," this three-day extravaganza in July focuses on more than 200 rare and exotic beers for a raucous good time.

Taste Washington
At the largest single-region wine and food festival in the country, you'll find more than 235 wineries, 65 restaurants, and some of the best chefs from across the nation. Think events for three different nights and three days across the city in late March.

Seattle Street Food Festival
So many food trucks, so little time, especially in the August heat. I suggest fish and chips from Nosh followed up with a scoop from Full Tilt Ice Cream.

Seattle Restaurant Week
Every fall and spring, the city's best restaurants create special menus at a lower price point (3 courses for $32) that let you sample the most impressive food in town without breaking the budget. Win-win.

Seattle Chocolate Week
Sure, many cities have restaurant week, but how many have chocolate week?! Think special menus at restaurants, cafes, and chocolate shops around town that let you sample the best of the best in November.

Seattle Wine and Food Experience

Three days. Two big nighttime events. And one whole day of grand tastings. Find the best food of the Northwest at this special event each February.

Ballard SeafoodFest
A Seattle tradition since 1974, this free festival each July features tons of local vendors, live music, and arts and crafts for the kids.
