Rock that tiara, Edna!

Some moments only become sweeter with time. And for 99-year-old Edna Chance that meant being crowned honorary homecoming queen at her high school some 80 years later.

Chance graduated from the school in 1935 and for the school’s 125th anniversary, they knew they had to include her to make it extra special.

“We started planning our homecoming festivities over eight months ago. We wanted something really special for our returning alumni and something that would represent our legacy and tap into nostalgia,” Livermore High School Alumni Board member Kristin Waters-Meyer told The Huffington Post in an email.

The alumni association got in touch with Chance’s children, who were also alumni, and they agreed.

At halftime of the homecoming game, Chance was escorted out to the field to help crown the homecoming queen, wearing her very own tiara and sash.

“It was an incredible moment,” Waters-Meyer said.

And judging by the look on her face, Edna felt as elated now as she would have as a teenager by being the evening’s queen.

Just goes to show, it’s never too late to live out your dreams.
