Dear Best Friend,
I know many people are saying that your life is going to change but I believe it is only going to change for the better.
In just a few short days you're going to bring a beautiful gift into this world and gain the amazing title of being a mom. That alone is such an amazing accomplishment to brag about.
People say you won't be able to go out with your best friends anymore because you'll have too many responsibilities or have to find a babysitter.
They might say that you have to grow up a little sooner than you thought and that you won't get to do everything you want to.
Those same people can tell you that you won't ever get to have that high demanding job that you've dreamed of since you can remember.
But here's the thing, those people who are saying these things don't get to call you their best friend, I do. I want to tell you how I feel about everything that these people are saying.
So you can't go out one night because you last minute can't find a babysitter, that sure as hell won't stop me from bringing a nice bottle of red wine to you and making our own girl's night.
Do people honestly think that having a little girl will stop you from doing everything you always dreamed of? If they knew you at all, they would know that your biggest motivator will be your little princess waiting for you at home.
But wait, shouldn't having a child make you fight for that dream job even more? Because I truly believe you will one day rule this world.
Best friend, it takes someone beyond special to be as strong as you are. You are about to take on the biggest role a woman is capable of doing, that is simply amazing to me. So what, you're a little young that impresses me ever more.
Your beautiful baby girl is the luckiest princess in the world to be able to call you mom. She is going to look up to you every day after she is born and picture exactly what she wants her future to be like. There is nothing more inspiring for a little girl than to see her mom taking on the world and still managing to make her her biggest priority.
I don't have much advice to give you because of course I am not a mom but I can give you a few promises.
I promise that I will never leave you or her side. I promise that I will do anything to be the best Aunt in the world. I promise that nothing will change, we will still have sleepovers and laugh like we are ten years old. I promise to always be your best friend no matter where we're at in life.
I guess all I have to tell you is that you're going to do amazing and beautiful things and I couldn't be more proud of you.
