A: Everywhere, really. But when I get really stuck, I like to go to Barnes & Noble and pull 20 books off shelves and sit in the coffee shop. I don't usually buy anything but it sometimes gets me unstuck. That and very long showers. I know, not PC in a drought.

A: I've been writing in one form or another since I was a kid. The very primal motivation is the wish to be heard and understood. For some people, that might be music or painting. For me, it has always been writing. I have ideas and feelings I want to express outwardly.

A: Oo, interesting question. A great day in the writers' room is when one idea builds on another and it gets ping-ponged around until you arrive at THE BIG IDEA. A bad day in the room is when nothing is flowing and the boss gets angry and hates all the ideas.
