New York City has many amazing Christmas trees to admire this holiday season. The one at Rockefeller Center is certainly the largest. But for a more glam option, and possibly the classiest one in town, you need to the Plaza. This year, the tree is topped with a giant 3D printed snowflake and a host of golden ornaments.

The Plaza tree sits in the foyer and is open to the public. But the most enjoyable way to admire the tree -- especially after a long day of shopping -- is from the vantage point of the Palm Court where formal afternoon tea is served. It is hard not to get into the holiday spirit surrounded by three tiers of goodies and a pot of tea or a glass of champagne (or both).

I dropped by for the official tree lighting ceremony on Monday and enjoyed the beauty of the historic hotel and also loved the respite from all of the craziness of Fifth Avenue. Santa came by and is planning to hang out in the Food Hall in the Plaza for the next few weeks. Stop by for a relatively crowd-free photo opp and even more holiday treats.
