In honor of Memorial Day, this Chicken Soup Moment brings you the story of a brave solider and his loving mother. Ida Gonzalez is a strong mother. Her son was killed serving for the U.S. Army in Baghdad, Iraq in August 2008. Since his death, Ida's life has taken on a new purpose: empowering others. Ida founded Butterfly Circle of Friends, a nonprofit in her hometown of Spotswood, NJ, to help those in need in the local community and worldwide.
