Howard Kurtz had Brian Williams on "Reliable Sources" Sunday morning, asking whether NBC Nightly News was turning the Katrina story into a "crusade". Williams defended the coverage, saying he had been a "witness", thanks to his early decision to stay in the Superdome, and that the human suffering made this "a monumental story of our time". Did Howard ask why NBC, and MSNBC, have not reported the fact that New Orleans' flooding was not a natural disaster but the result of Army Corps of Engineers bungling? He did not. (Search for "largest civil engineering disaster", the money quote of this week's Team Louisiana report, at MSNBC, and see what you get)
