Yesterday, on July 15, 2016 the Turkish people were called to the streets by President Erdogan to reclaim the democracy from a minority group of bandits from within the Turkish Armed Forces who attempted to abduct the freedom of Turkey.

As tanks across the Bosphorus Bridge blocked off traffic and led way for military personnel to pass along, the shock and horror that was instilled in the Turkish public was evident in their stillness. People were eagerly waiting to hear from President Erdogan in order to follow his command.

The vicious and malice attack on our freedoms in no time quashed by our Commander in Chief, our democratically elected President, who called out to the Turkish people to take action in the public squares and airports across the nation. As the people took the streets they faced the ugly face of terror from FETO. Throughout the night this group of bandits dropped bombs on the Turkish Parliament, the Presidency and Police Stations. They opened fire against civilians who attempted to resist their action. They bombed the hotel that the President was staying in with his family and friends in Marmaris for the weekend. In the meantime, high-ranking military officers including the Chief of General Staff Hulusi Akar were taken hostage. Usurped F-16s were utilized to almost corner Erdogan’s plane on his way back to Istanbul.

As the dawn broke a total of 161 people most of whom are civilians lost their lives on the path of protecting free Turkey while 1,440 were wounded. As I write, the fight is not completely over yet. Turkish people in collaboration with Police Forces and the good guys of the Armed Forces are in a joint effort to ward off the threat. So far 2,839 military men have been arraigned.

These bandits will be brought before justice and pay a heavy price for this. Whether it will be within the courtrooms or in the public squares, the rebel group of military men must be tried before the Turkish public. The world leaders and the global community must be assured that any attempt to topple democracy in Turkey will be a failure.

The adamant Erdogan critics, I hope, now get it. FETO is a criminal organization initiated from Pennsylvania. As the people of this country, we made our choice: It is either Freedom or Freedom. Whatever the price is, we are willing to protect our values.

United we stand.
