A New Twist On The Grandparent Scam

A scam that targets older adults has a new twist.

We've told you about the grandparent scam before. A caller will claim to be a relative, injured or arrested in a foreign country. They tell the victim they need to wire money to get home.

Now, the callers are demanding money to free a kidnapped relative. The callers are threatening to hurt the relative if they don't get the money. It can range from $600 to $2,000.
